Grow Right in the WIC Women in ICT Annual Dinner Debate

Friday night the Grow Right team attended the WIC Women in ICT Annual Dinner Debate.

It was an absolutely privilege to be able be part of something so uplifting and inspiring. Congratulations to the all the winners and nominees for the awards. I was particularly impressed with the Kate Muir Student Encouragement Award and Raw Magic winners and nominees who represent the next generation of female ICT leaders. A key message was that we need to and can do more to encourage interest in ICT careers in students in high school.

Big shout out to Michelle Graham, PhD who won the WIC Women in ICT Woman of the Year award among a field of incredibly talented women. To quote Michelle ‘take the risk, do something that scares you and excites you. You won’t regret it!’.

Congratulations to Mike Webb for winning the WIC Male Champion of Change Award. I’d also like to congratulate Timothy McKay from OK RDY for his nomination in this category and call out his generosity in ensuring that there were even more winners in the Raw Magic category. A very kind act and reflective of the values that Tim holds and inspires in others.

The great debate (‘Leadership – it is all about the outfit’) was brilliant, and while I was leaning the other way at one stage, the closing remarks from Ginger Gorman sealed the deal for the negative team.

It was an absolutely wonderful night, a lot of fun, and one of my personal highlights of the year. Many thanks to

Tara Searle and the team at WIC Women in ICT for allowing Grow Right to participate. The WIC team did an amazing job. My one regret… I wish I had more photos of the night 😊 – Bryce from Grow Right

We would also like to thank our wonderful guests for the evening, Deanna Gibbs, and Stacey Altoft.
